Blackburn Mechanic – Daniel
In our first ‘Meet The Mechanics’ feature, we introduce Daniel who has been with us for almost 3 years and continues to focus on developing new skills every day.
Blackburn mechanic Daniel really is a local lad from Darwen and joined us at Ewood MOT & Service Centre in 2019 from another garage.
We’ll never forget in his interview just how enthusiastic he was in not just wanting a job, but a job at a garage that would invest in him to be able to continually develop and learn new skills in vehicle diagnostics, repairs and electric vehicles.
Qualifications
Since joining us, Daniel has progressed in both practical skills on the job in the garage and academically at Blackburn College:
- IMI Level 1 Transport – This qualifications included development in mechanical learning for various types of light and heavy vehicles as well as electrical learning, foundations skills, health and safety practices and personal social development skills.
- IMI Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Auto Electrical abd Mobile Electrical Principles – This qualification enabled Daniel to better understand the auto electrical and mobile electrical principles, which is obviously becoming more important as electric vehicles become more and more popular.
Whilst Daniel is well versed on day to day vehicle diagnostic and repairs, he has also recently successfully undertaken a complete MINI timing belt and engine rebuild.
Praise for engine Rebuild
Ewood MOT & Service Centre Owner Phil Wright explained “Daniel is a real credit to young people that have a hunger to work and learn at the same time.
Daniel is never afraid to investigate a problem and double check on solutions. He is also asking the right questions. There is no lazy repetition and he applies his learning and discusses situations with other mechanics, which naturally allows everyone to form opinions and learn.
The recent MINI timing belt and engine rebuild project was managed by Daniel and a real accomplishment that he can proud of.
The industry is starved of young and pro-active mechanics at the moment. With the shift to Electric Vehicle becoming ever more important, it’s great to see Daniel exploring and learning more on the subject.
At Ewood MOT & Service Centre we understand the importance of being up to date with the very latest technology and that is why we are investing in our mechanics, supporting them to gain the latest qualifications”.
Google Reviews and Happy Customers
It’s not just Phil that is pleased with Daniel’s development and attention to work. Daniel has also been mentioned in reviews on Google including the latest from another happy customer explaining…
“I took my mini to Ewood this time after just purchasing it recently. I booked it in for a full service and to get a full inspection to know if there were any underlying faults. I must say that Gail was great in organising getting everything done in one day and also a big thanks to Daniel who stayed late to make sure it was all done. I have no hesitation in giving them both a recommendation and rating the garage 5 stars”.
Well done Daniel, it’s great to see you progressing ?? and we are proud to support you developing your skills.
